Babcock International Group announces a significant milestone in French defense training. The company has secured a contract to provide a L-39 aircraft to the French Test Pilot School (EPNER), marking the first addition to their fleet. This contract is a game-changer for flight test training, as it will enable EPNER to conduct realistic operational assessments of aircraft performance and flying qualities. The L-39 will also be utilized for target simulation missions, supporting the Direction Générale de l’Armement – Essais en Vol (DGA EV) in their flight testing and technical endeavors.
The aircraft's role extends beyond training. It will be used for:
- Training DGA EV servicing mechanics
- Providing refresher training for DGA EV mechanics
- Conducting release flights for EPNER instructors and test pilots already qualified on the L-39
Pierre Basquin, Chief Executive Aviation & CEO France, emphasizes the partnership's significance. He states, 'EPNER is a renowned institution dedicated to training test pilots, engineers, and technicians in flight testing. This collaboration showcases Babcock's dedication to supporting the French armed forces in their critical missions. By providing high-performance aerial assets tailored to training and testing needs, we aim to enhance the capabilities of the French military.'
This contract is a strategic move, opening doors for future opportunities in operational training and international pilot education. Babcock's L-39 aircraft will play a pivotal role in advancing the French defense training program, ensuring the country's armed forces are well-prepared for real-world challenges.
