As the festive season approaches, residents of The Villages need to be aware of changes to the trash collection schedule due to Christmas. Understanding these adjustments is essential to ensure that your waste management is not disrupted during this busy time.
Community Development Districts 1-11:
For those living in Community Development Districts 1 through 11, which include areas in Sumter County, Marion County, and parts of Fruitland Park, the trash pickup originally scheduled for Thursday will now take place on Saturday, December 27. However, Friday's collection will proceed as usual without any changes.
Community Development District 12 and the Villages of DeLuna and Hammock at Fenney:
Residents of Village Community Development District 12, along with those in the Villages of DeLuna and Hammock at Fenney, will also experience the same change: Thursday’s pickup is rescheduled to Saturday, December 27, while Friday collections remain on their regular schedule.
Community Development Districts 13 and 14:
If you reside in Community Development District 13 (excluding the Villages of DeLuna and Hammock at Fenney) or Community Development District 14, you should note that Thursday’s trash collection will shift to Saturday, December 27, 2025. Similarly, Friday's collection will continue as planned.
Lake County Portion of The Villages:
For residents in the Lake County section of The Villages, excluding CDDs 11 and 14, the Thursday collection will instead take place on Friday. Additionally, all other collection days throughout that week will be postponed by one day.
Town of Lady Lake Portion of The Villages:
If you are located in the Town of Lady Lake part of The Villages, expect Thursday services to move to Friday, December 26.
Community Development District 15:
For those in Community Development District 15, with the exception of the Villages of Oak Hollow and Well Point, the Thursday trash pickup has been rescheduled to Saturday, December 27.
