Former MLB player Gary Sheffield to speak at annual Friends of Baseball breakfast
Former Major League Baseball player Gary Sheffield will be the featured speaker for the annual Friends of Baseball fundraising breakfast in late January. The organization's Breakfast of Champions begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, January 31st, at the Island Grove Event Center on 15th Avenue in Greeley.
Friends of Baseball is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for baseball players in Northern Colorado. Sheffield, a 9-time All-Star, has an impressive career spanning 22 seasons with eight different teams. He achieved the title of National League batting champion in 1992, posting a career-high .330 batting average with the San Diego Padres. Additionally, Sheffield was a key member of the Florida Marlins' World Series-winning team in 1997.
Tickets for the event are priced at $20 and can be purchased at Garretson's Sports Center, Rogue Play Trampoline, Sears Real Estate, or online at nocofriendsofbaseball.com. Corporate table sponsorships are also available, with sponsorship levels ranging from $5,000 for a title sponsor to $750 for a silver sponsor. All proceeds from the breakfast will support Friends of Baseball's youth baseball programs.
